How do I top up my pay-as-you-go (PAYG) meter?

The way you top up depends on the type of pay-as-you-go (PAYG) meter installed in your home.

Check your meter type using the images below, then choose one of the top-up options below.

Top up online

Use the payment link for your meter:

 

IKW3 customers

If you have an IKW3 meter and a Customer Portal account, you can set up alerts for:

  • Low balance
  • Supply disconnected due to a zero balance
  • Successful top-ups

Top up using a QR code

If your meter displays a QR code, simply scan it with your phone to go directly to the online payment page.

 

Top up in-store

You can top up at any PayPoint shop using your top-up card.

  • No registration is required.
  • Simply take your card with you and tell the retailer how much you'd like to top up.

 

Lost your top-up card?

If you've lost your card, please see our What should I do if I've lost my top-up card? article.

If you don't have a card, our Customer Care team can send you a digital barcode linked to your PayPoint account.

Just submit a support ticket and we'll send it to you.

 

Top up over the phone

Call 01279 810 119 between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Friday.

Our team will help you make a payment over the phone.

 

Pay by bank transfer

You can also top up by bank transfer.

To request the correct bank details for your development, please submit a support ticket.

Please note that Direct Debit is not available for PAYG accounts.

 

Emergency credit

If your balance reaches £0, your meter will automatically activate any available emergency credit.

The amount available will be shown on your meter display.
