Who manages the heat network?

  • Updated

The Heat Supplier is responsible for managing the heat network. In most cases, they appoint a Managing Agent to act on their behalf.

The Managing Agent:

  • Manages the service charge
  • Oversees the provision of heat and charging processes
  • Appoints service providers as needed

You can confirm who your Managing Agent is by checking the first page of your Data Energy bill.

For more detail on the different parties involved in operating your development, please see our article on Who’s responsible for what in my building?

What this means for you

  • The Heat Supplier owns overall responsibility for the network.
