The administration charge is a fixed daily charge that helps cover the cost of managing your metering, billing and customer care.
Your total admin charge is calculated by multiplying the daily rate by the number of days in your billing period.
For example:
If the administration charge is 15p per day and your billing period covers 30 days, the total administration charge would be:
15p × 30 days = £4.50
What does the admin charge cover?
The admin charge helps fund services such as:
- Meter reading and data collection
- Producing and issuing bills
- Processing payments
- Managing customer accounts
- Access to our Customer Care team
- Access to the Customer Portal, where you can:
- View bills and statements
- Make payments
- Check your consumption history
- Manage your account online
Tariff reviews and account administration
Why is this charge separate?
The admin charge is separate from your energy usage charges.
This means that even if you use little or no energy during a billing period, the admin charge may still apply because the services that support your account continue to be provided.
Can the admin charge change?
As a Metering and Billing Agent, Data Energy may review and update admin charges from time to time. Any changes will be communicated to residents as part of the tariff review process.
