No. They work in a similar way because both allow payments to be collected automatically from your bank account, but they use different banking services.
Recurring Payments connect securely with your bank when you set them up. This means you don't need to complete a Direct Debit mandate or provide your bank account details to Data Energy.
If your bank doesn't support Recurring Payments, you'll be offered Direct Debit as an alternative.
