Our standard way to set up automatic payments is through Recurring Payments.
They're quick and secure to set up and don't require you to complete a Direct Debit mandate or provide your bank account details to Data Energy.
If your bank doesn't support Recurring Payments, you'll automatically be given the option to set up a Direct Debit instead.

If you specifically need to pay by Direct Debit – for example, if you're a letting agent managing payments for multiple properties – please contact us and we'll help you with the appropriate arrangement.
Recurring and Direct debit payments are not available for pre-payment customers. For more ways to pay, please visit our How can I pay my bill? article.
How much will I be charged?
With Recurring Payments, the exact amount of your invoice will be collected automatically on the invoice due date. There is no set payment date each month, as this depends on when your invoice is due.
Unlike the previous Direct Debit arrangement, where we would attempt to collect your full account balance, Recurring Payments only collect the amount due on the current invoice. Any previous outstanding balance will need to be paid separately.
If a Recurring Payment is unsuccessful, it will not be automatically reattempted. You will need to make a separate payment to clear the outstanding balance. If the balance remains unpaid, you may receive reminder letters.
You may also receive a reminder after setting up Recurring Payments if you have an existing outstanding balance that has not been paid separately.
Recurring Payments can also give you more control over how much is collected, as you will be able to set a payment limit for each calendar month. If your invoice is higher than the limit you have set, no payment will be taken and you will need to pay the invoice separately using one of our available payment methods.
